Acer has taken yet another step towards domination of the Chromebook market with the introduction of its new Chromebook 15 at CES in Las Vegas.
Featuring an unprecedented 15.6” display, the Chromebook 15 is the largest of its kind till date. The larger screen as well as the touchpad will enable users to have greater access to apps and tabs. The display comes in full HD mode for connoisseurs as well as HD 1366X768 for the budget buyers. The Chromebook 15 is being projected by Acer as a primary computing device for usersand sports a fabric-like surface for a better grip and look.
Weighing in at 2.2kg, it is also built to sustain weights of up to 60kg and toterate falls from a height of 45cms. Two full sized upward-facing speakers ensure better audio performance for a greater multimedia experience.
The device has a wireless connectivity port as well as Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, an HDMI port and a SD card reader. The internal specs of the Chromebook 15 include a 5th Generation Intel Core i3 5005U or Intel Celeron 3205U processor that greatly enhances its performance boasting a boot time of a tiny 7-seconds.
The device comes with 16GB/2GB RAM and 32GB/4GB RAM options.
The models will be available for sales starting February and will be priced from £220 onwards.
