Acer has unveiled its new Octa-core Liquid Jade S smartphone at the Pepcom’s Digital Experience! Event in Las Vegas today.
Weighing a mere 116 grams, the Liquid Jade S sports Mediatek’s 64-bit Octa-core processor and supports 4G LTE. The phone further sports a 2GB RAM and an internal 16GB space. The Jade S also comes with optional hybrid microSD/dual nano SIM which is a first for mobile phones.
As for the exterior, the Liquid Jade S has a fully curved 5” body with a curved surface as well as around the edges. Sporting a 5” IPS LCD touch screen with a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels, the Liquid Jade S will be available in Cosmic Black and Lunar White colours. The front camera has been upgraded from 2MP to 5MP from the predecessor Liquid Jade, while the rear camera remains the same at 13MP- though modifications have been made in the quality of pictures taken in low-light.
Both cameras are voice-actionable- with words like ‘Cheese’ to shoot and ‘selfie’ to switch from rear to front. The new Dual Shot mode takes simultaneous shots from both cameras to let the user decide the best of the lot. The Gourmet Mode takes beautiful shots that can be uploaded to Instagram and the Auto-scene-detect mode helps those who aren’t too sure how to tweak the settings to get the best shot.
While the Liquid Jade was compatible with the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, the upcoming Liquid Jade S will feature Android 4.4.2 Jelly Bean and will upgrade to Lollipop later this year.
The Liquid Jade S will go on sale at a starting price of £299 later this year.
