Started back in 2005 as an alternative to MySpace, Bebo surpassed Facebook in popularity stakes by 2007, was sold to AOL for £417 million in 2008 and bought back by the creators in 2013 for £600,000.
The social networking site is now back from the dead as a Whatsapp rivalling messaging app available for both iOS and Android phones.
Users can doodle, create avatars and use hastags to get their point of view across because, of course, words dont cut it any more and who has the patience to type out sentences of text when you can just upload a twerking gif?
An incredibly fun experience awaits users as typing in hashtags like #slap, #kiss and #twerk will make avatars belt out their own version of said activity across your message screen.
A Flappy Bird-esque game is on-board and others activites users can partake of are doodling, sending music and sharing location.
If you were a Bebo fan back in the day, there's good news for you- from 31 January 2015, you will be able to view photos you may have stored on the old site. You will, however, have to create fresh logins as the old ones will no longer work on the shiny new site.
