Nationwide launches Android Wear app

If you are one of those people who check their bank balance a couple of times everyday, then this news will make you very happy indeed.

As long as you own an Android -powered phone and own a smartwatch running Android Wear. Nationwide Building Society has launched an Android Wear app which will allow customers who own smartwatches to check their balances at the flick of a wrist.

Customers will also be offered a daily notification service letting them know how much money they have in their account. Even though Nationwide only started offering contactless cards this year, they are obviously keen on being first across the line in the race to marry banking with latest technology.

Barclays have a superlative app called PingIt that allows you to text money over to contacts and there is already Paym, an industry-wide mobile payment facility. Their balance checking app ‘Quick Balance’, for phones has been used 12 million times since its launch in June this year.
