Amazon take on Google with the Fire TV Stick

Amazon have today launched the Fire TV Stick that allows users to stream content to their TV sets.

Priced at $39 (£30) and on pre-order in the US at the moment, the biggest advantage the Fire TV Stick will have over Chromecast is the sizable gaming store.

As is obvious, Amazon instant Video will be available as well as the ability for users to stream Netflix, Spotify and Pandora. Using the HDMI port of your TV set, the specs on the Amazon product blow Google Chromecast and Roku Streaming Stick out of water- the new entrant has a dual-core processor, 8GB flash storage and 1GB RAM.

Available for pre-order in the US now, UK availability is not know right now but it will hopefully be the first non-US country where it is available going by how Amazon have marketed their products on the past.

They have even put up an irresistible offer for current Amazon Prime subscribers by offering it for just $20 if ordered within the next two days.
