The Pebble smartwatch is coming to the UK in the coming weeks, and will be priced from just £99.
Using an e-ink screen, the Pebble was one of the first smartwatches to hit the mainstream after it was announced in January, following a hugely successful KickStarter funding campaign, in which more than $10 million was raised.
Although currently available through international shipping from US-based Pebble, the watch will soon be available locally in the UK from Amazon, Dixons and O2; the latter will exclusively offer the Pebble in red.
A major software update will coincide with the UK launch and bring fitness and sleep tracking features to the Pebble; this will bring tighter integration with iOS 8 and its Health app. The Pebble displays notifications collected from your iPhone or Android phone over a Bluetooth connection.
The Pebble will cost £99, while the Pebble Steel - which has a metal strap - will cost £179; both models are expected to go on sale in the UK “in the coming weeks.”
