Amazon’s ‘Netflix for books’ Kindle Unlimited services comes to UK with unlimited books for £7.99 a month.
Subscribers will get access to more than 650,000 books, including the Harry Potter and Hunger Games series, as well as “thousands” of audiobooks.
The service is free for the first 30 days (after which you can cancel if you decide it’s not for you), and from then on it’s £7.99 per month and can be used on Amazon’s Kindle ebook readers, as well as the free Kindle app on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry.
Where a book is available as both an ebook and audiobook, Amazon’s Whispersync service lets you switch between the two. Say you read two chapters at home, then continue listening in the car, the audiobook will be at the right place.
Once subscribed, eligible books will have an Unlimited logo next to them; simply download the book for free and read it at your leisure.
