Apple iPhone 6 announcement: How to watch live video stream

Apple is hosting a media event in California this evening, where it is widely expected to announce the iPhone 6 is two different sizes and a wearable called the iWatch - here’s how to watch the live video stream.

Firstly, some bad news for Windows users - the live stream will only work through Safari on a Mac, or Safari on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. It’ll also be streamed to the Apple TV set-top box.

But it’s a little bit more complicated than that - to watch the video stream you will need to use Safari version 5.1.10 or later on a Mac running OS X 10.6.8 or later.

For mobile users you’ll need to use Safari and be running iOS 6 or newer. Finally, Apple TV users will need either the second- or third-generation box running software version 6.2 or newer.

That may all sound quite complicated, but basically if you have a Mac, Apple TV or iOS device which is less than a couple of years old and has its software up-to-date then you’ll be fine.

Apple is streaming the event here at apple.com/live and it starts at 6pm UK time.
