Ahead of the IFA technology trade show in Berlin, LG has released a teaser video briefly showing off its latest smartwatch.
Expected to be announced at IFA next week, the second-generation G Watch will reportedly feature a round face - and this freeze-frame offers our closest look yet at what LG could have up its sleeve.
IFA 2014 Preview: Everything you need to know
Shown for just a split second during a high-speed montage of watch faces at the end of the teaser video, this image shows what we expect to be one of several round face options available on the new G Watch, a wearable which comes just a few weeks after the first G Watch launched earlier this summer.
The current G Watch - which we recently reviewed - and watches from Sony and Samsung have all featured chunky square faces, but it was the round face of the Motorola Moto 360, expected to go on sale soon, which spawned the most interest and demand from the technology press, developers and consumers alike.
We heard as far back as March that LG was working on smartwatch with both square and circular screens. Although the original G Watch runs Google’s Android Wear operating system, we don’t yet know if the second model will follow suit.
This image is all we have on the round G Watch for now, but we expect to see much more when we head out to IFA next week, so stay tuned.
