Just weeks after launching the G Watch, LG could be preparing to announce its second Android Wear smartwatch.
If a report by the Korea Times is to be believed, then LG’s G Watch 2 will arrive at the IFA technology trade show in Berlin next month. The show kicks off on 3 September and will feature major new products from Samsung, Sony, Huawei, LG and others.
A new model of G Watch from LG would be a surprise, given how close it comes after the first model - which we recently reviewed - but this report does tie in with whisperings that LG has been working on a smartwatch with a round face.
As far back as March, Mobile Choice heard LG was developing two smartwatches, and that a round-screened model would follow the square G Watch. It now looks like this claim could be coming true.

An unnamed LG official told Korea Times: 'LG Electronics was working on a September release for the new smartwatch alongside Google’s wearable platform. The IFA fair may be the venue to see the upgraded smartwatch.'
A second LG source told Korea Times that the company has been approached by watchmakers to form a collaboration on a new smartwatch. 'LG Electronics is being approached by a lot of authoritative watchmakers for strategic collaboration. They need us and LG also wants to use their well-known brand image to boost awareness of our smartwatches in key target markets.'

Partnering with a traditional watchmaker could see the LG G Watch 2 offer a more premium design over the plastic, square and fairly forgettable original G Watch.
IFA kicks off on 3 September and Mobile Choice will be there to report on all the latest smartphones, tablets and smartwatches announced.
