If the writing wasn’t already on the wall, then Samsung has pretty much confirmed that we’ll seeing the Galaxy Note 4 at it’s Unpacked media event in Berlin on 3 September.
An invitation sent to Mobile Choice and others outlines the Unpacked 2 event, which kicks off at 3pm local time, just across town from where the IFA technology trade show begins a day later.
The invite states: “Ready? Note the date” followed by a stylus similar to that used by previous Note phones. It also shows the circular menu which appears on the Note 3 when you hover the stylus over the screen.
We expect the Note 4 to have a 5.9-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 - the same as the LG G3, but much greater than most other smartphones. The Note 4 is also likely to have a fingerprint scanner for increased security, a heart rate monitor for tracking your fitness with the S Health app, and of course a stylus for sketching and jotting down notes on the screen.
Alongside the Note 4 we could also get our first official look at the Galaxy Alpha, a premium Samsung handset which has leaked extensively over the last month, and which features a 4.8-inch display and a premium metal design. It’s expected that Samsung will pitch the good-looking Alpha against the iPhone 6, which is due later in September.
Mobile Choice will be attending IFA to bring you the biggest news stories and our first impressions of new hardware from Samsung, Sony, Huawei and others.
