Second version of 3's Skypephone brings even more internet services to the mobile
3 has announced its follow up to its revolutionary Skypephone. The 3 Skypephone S2 improves on the original in terms of specs, design and features. As well as free Skype calling and instant messaging, mobile internet services such as Facebook, Google and Windows Live Messenger are all easily accessible through the phones new ‘carousel' interface that is controlled via the switcher key found on the side of the handset. Users can continue to make free Skype calls and instant messages to other Skype users when they sign up to one of 3's Pay Monthly price plans or to 3's pay-as-you-go scheme.
The 3 Skypephone S2 also sports a 3.2-megapixel camera, HSDPA internet capabilities, a 2.2-inch QVGA screen and 4GB of expandable memory. Design wise, the phone is now black and features a steel back, and the front of the handset is decorated with metal keys. The phone also comes boxed with a cable that can be used to hook up the phone to a laptop to enable instant internet access with broadband speeds.
The 3 Skypephone is available for free on any of 3's Mix&Match tariffs or for £69.99 on prepay.
