The Skypephone S2 comes with a built in modem so you can use it with your laptop like a dongle
3 has launched a new improved version of its Skyephone, with a plush new finish, a better camera, faster data speeds and a built in modem.
The Skypephone S2, which goes on sales on 18 August, sports a shiny stainless steel rear casing, swish silver keys and rapid HSDPA data speeds for browsing the web on your phone or on your laptop. The S2 carries a built in modem, which means you can connect it to your laptop to access internet and email on the move at up to 3.6MBps.
As with the original Skypephone, you get free Skype calls and Skype contacts are integrated into your phone book. The handset also features a 3Quicklinks menu which gives you a full list of all your social networking sites in one place.
The Skypephone is free on monthly 3 Mix and Match contracts and just under £70 on prepay. 3 is also offering two web browsing bundles. For £2.50 per month on contract (or per week on prepay) you'll get 10MB of data for surfing the web. For £5 per month you get 1GB on contract and prepay.
