A Google Play edition of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is due to be released imminently, as the phone is spotted on Google’s own Android website.
The phone - which will run a standard version of Android Kit Kat and be sold without Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface - was spotted on the Android website yesterday, sitting alongside the Google Play edition HTC One (M8) and Google’s own Nexus 5 handset.
Hours later the notorious and hugely reliable leaker Evan Blass published press images of the Google Play edition Galaxy S5 on his Ev Leaks Twitter account, all but confirming that the handset will be announced soon.
Samsung and Google fans have waited some time for this S5 to arrive, given the phone was announced in February and went on sale on 11 April.
There’s no word yet on a price for the Play edition S5, but with it appearing on Google’s own Android website, we doubt we’ll have to wait much longer to find out.
