The Xperia Z2 was only announced in February, but it looks like Sony is already preparing its replacement - the Xperia Z3 - with the latest leak claiming it will arrive in September, just a year after the Z1.
A photograph claiming to show the Z3 and a smaller version, thought to be the Xperia Z3 Compact, has emerged on the often-accurate Digi-wo Chinese website. It is interesting to note that Sony has yet to announce the Xperia Z2 Compact, which makes us wonder whether it will jump straight to the third-generation of pint-size flagship or if what you see here is indeed the Z2 Compact and the two handsets are now a generation apart.
The leak suggests the phones will be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 or 805 processor, and although the rear camera is not mentioned, we fully expect Sony to once again roll out its 20.7-megapixel rear shooter.
A September release date suggests Sony will announce the phones at the IFA technology trade show, which kicks off in Berlin on 5 September. Sony announced the Xperia Z1 at IFA in 2013.
