The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will arrive in shops in mid-July and will feature a 4.5-inch HD display, plus a design almost identical to that of the full-size S5.
A mid-July launch falls a year after the S4 Mini’s arrival, but thankfully the new model is expected to bring a much more impressive specification sheet to the party than the average-at-best S4 Mini.

There will be 1.5GB of RAM, while your photography needs are taken care with thanks to an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 2.1-megapixel camera on the front.
Unlike the distinctly mid-range S4 Mini, the Galaxy S5 Mini will offer many of the same feature as its older stablemate - these include a fingerprint scanner for enhanced security, a heart rate monitor on the back, and waterproofing to level IP67.

Visually, the Mini is almost identical to the regular phone, and the smaller model also gets the same software as the S5, which means Android 4.4 KitKat and Samsung’s latest TouchWiz user interface.
We’ve no idea on a price just yet, but if Samsung keeps it affordable we can see the S5 Mini being a hugely popular handset in the second half of 2014.
