More images claiming to be of the iPhone 6 have leaked online from Apple’s Chinese supply chain, revealing a slimmed down design and a glowing Apple logo.
Falling in line with all other recent rumours, the images show a smartphone larger than any iPhone to date, believed to have a 4.7-inch screen. The phone has more rounded edges similar to the iPad Air
The iPhone’s volume rocker, home button and mute switch are all in their usual position, however the power button has been relocated to the side of the phone where it will be easier to reach, given its larger screen.
Most interestingly from this leak is a claim that the iPhone 6’s Apple logo will light up and glow to signal notifications like missed calls and unread messages. Although a popular feature on Android handsets, no iPhone has ever had a notification light, and while we’re love to see one on the iPhone 6, using the Apple logo on the back of the phone seems strange, given users rarely place their phones face-down.
The iPhone 6 is expected to be announced by Apple at a press event in either September or October, with a larger 5.5-inch model due later in the year. A wearable gadget called iWatch is also widely expected to arrive alongside the new handsets, taking advantage of the Health app, new to iOS 8, which will launch to the public in the autumn.
