The iPhone 6 will go on sale on 19 September, one German mobile phone network has claimed, almost exactly a year after the iPhone 5s arrived in stores.
Deutsche Telekom is the network claiming to know the date, but given the iPhone 5s arrived on 20 September last year, this could well be little more than an educated guess - we’d be surprised if Apple had told a network of its retail plans in such detail several months in advance.
But, if nothing else, this latest claim has further stoked the fire that is the Apple rumour mill, which has been working overtime recently to keep up with all the gossip surrounding the iPhone 6.
Apple’s latest handset is widely expected to have a 4.7-inch screen and a cosmetic redesign to make it even thinner than the 7.6mm iPhone 5s. The phone will also run Apple’s upcoming iOS 8 mobile operating system which is tipped to be shown off at the company’s WWDC developer event on 2 June.
The iPhone 6 is also expected to be sold alongside a wearable device dubbed the iWatch, but this is yet to be confirmed by Apple.
