Samsung’s latest attempt at combining the smartphone and digital camera, the Galaxy K Zoom, can now be pre-ordered in the UK for £400, with shipping starting on 29 May.
The K Zoom has a 20.7-megapixel camera with a 10x optical zoom lens on the back, and a 4.8-inch 720p HD screen on the back, making this an Android KitKat smartphone, but one which can take photos to rival any point-and-shoot digital camera.
Replacing the year-old Galaxy S4 Zoom, the 4G-ready K Zoom is priced around £100 less than the flagship Galaxy S5, which has a slightly larger screen but lacks any form of optical zoom on its 16-megapixel camera.
Jumping on the selfie bandwagon, the K Zoom can take self portraits with its rear camera by recognising when your face is correctly screen before automatically taking the picture.
The Galaxy K Zoom has just 4GB of internal storage, but thankfully this can be increased by a microSD card slot. The phone/camera hybrid is available in black, white and blue.
