Samsung is considering a flexible, curved screen for the Galaxy Note 4 smartphone, which is due to be announced in September.
Lee Younghee, vice president of Samsung’s mobile division, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that the company was considering such a screen, which would wrap around one or more edges of the handset - similar to a prototype shown off by Samsung in 2012.
The Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be announced at the IFA technology trade show in Berlin in September - this is where Samsung has traditionally updated the phablet-sized handset.
Despite suggesting the new phone could have a flexible display, Younghee added that a final design had not yet been agreed on for the Note 4, so plans could change between now and September.
