Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S5 has a faulty camera, but claims the number of phone sold with the defective part was “very limited”.
The company also says it has taken measures to ensure the issue does not reoccur, and that it will offer free replacements for any customers who encounter the problem.

Reports of the problem surfaced last week and claimed the Galaxy S5’s camera would issue a warning that it had “failed” and no longer work. Many users with the problem found that rebooting the phone did not fix the camera.
Samsung said: “We have discovered that the issue has been seen in a very limited portion of early production Galaxy S5 units, and was caused by complications in the ROM (Read Only Memory) component which stores the information necessary to operate the camera.”
