The LG G Watch, one of the first wearable gadgets to use Google’s Android Wear operating system, will feature an always-on display and be available in black and gold.
New images published on LG’s website show a smartwatch with a square 1.85-inch display which remains on all the time - unlike those used by Samsung’s gear smartwatches - and which displays useful information sourced from Google Now.
Mobile Choice understands a G Watch with a round face will be made available later in the year, and despite the screen being on all the time, the company claims more than a full day’s battery life is possible. The watch will be available in 'Stealth Black' and 'Champagne Gold'.
Using Google Now, the LG G Watch can provide information such as the location weather forecast, traffic conditions and how they will affect your commute to work, upcoming flight details and notifications like incoming text messages and emails.
It is believed the G Watch will be available for £180 in the UK from July.
