Apple is gearing up for a blockbuster second half to 2014, with a stream of new product releases including a smartwatch in two sizes, a new 12-inch MacBook and two iPhones with different sized screens.
The California company is also set to roll out updates to the iPad Air and iPad mini, MacBook Pro range, and the Apple TV in what is set to be a busy few months.
The news comes from a research note created by KPG analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who writes: “We believe the rumored iWatch will be Apple's most important product this year, carrying much more weight than the iPhone 6, as market feedback for the product should reveal whether Apple still has the ability to continue making game-changing products with Tim Cook at the helm."
According to Ming-Chi, Apple will announce a 4.7-inch iPhone late in the third quarter of 2014, and this will be joined by a 5.5-inch iPhone aimed at the phablet market at the end of the year.
Apple is widely expected to take on Samsung and Google’s Android Wear later this year, as the smartwatch market begins to heat up after a slow start in 2013. Samsung’s Gear 2, Gear Neo and Gear Fit all go on sale this week, aiming to combine communication, notifications and exercise in one device.
