New HTC One model sells on eBay ahead of launch

It doesn't officially launch until 25 March, but someone has just sold HTC's next flagship phone on eBay.

The phone, described as the HTC One (so that's the launch name covered), but previously known as the HTC M8, looks to be a US model, bound for the Verizon network in that particular country. The phone itself wasn't photographed, but the packaging was. That was all it took, as the phone sold for just short of $500 yesterday. We await the unboxing from the lucky bidder.

So no hands-on shots, but the specification of the phone, widely rumoured already, seems to be confirmed by the packaging of the sold handset. If it's real (and we would guess it is), the new HTC flagship will be a 4G phone with 5-inch Full HD display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM, MicroSD slot, dual front stereo speakers with built-in amplifier, duo camera with Ultrapixel and in this case, 32GB of storage.

Got that? Good. Now we can all sit tight and await the official launch, which is more like a rubber-stamping of the phone than an unveil. Saying that, specifications only give us half the story. HTC might have a few tricks up its sleeve when the new HTC One is actually demonstrated publicly.
