LG G3 reported to be a waterproof phone

A lot of details sneaking out about the LG G3 - and it isn't scheduled to appear until at least May.

The latest comes from Korean site ET News, which claims the new upcoming LG flagship will come with both waterproof and dustproof functionality. Yes, like Sony and Samsung before it, LG is acutely aware that we might just walk through the pouring rain whilst talking on our phones or be clumsy enough to drop it in water or at the very least, splash it at some point. It seems like a reasonable move. Sony offers protection up to 3 metres on the Xperia Z2 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 is good for 1 metre, so you would expect LG to at least match if not better that.

Likewise, if you've ever had dust in a phone's connector that has made it temperamental at best, you'll understand how annoying that can be as well.

Other than that, we are still playing the guessing game with the LG G3. But so far, we're guessing (based on leaks and rumours) at a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 resolution, along with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS technology, a fingerprint scanner of some sort and LG's Odin mobile chipset to keep things ticking along.

The launch is said to be scheduled for the middle of May. We'll keep our ear to the ground for more concrete developments.
