Sony Xperia Z2 priced and dated for UK

Mobile pricing shows no sign of coming down significantly any time soon, as the UK price of the Sony Xperia Z2 highlights.

The phone's SIM-free price leaked out last week at just short of £600, but now the contract deals are here, priced at around double that over the 24 months.

Carphone Warehouse will have Sony's latest flagship from 7 April and if you sign with Vodafone, you can have the phone 'free' for £47 per month. That gets you unlimited minutes and texts, but just 3GB of 4G data. If you pay £48 per month with O2, that data allowance rises to 5GB. Alternatively, you can pay £100 down and get a deal with EE fort 20GB of 4G data for £52.99 each month.

For that, you get the super slim (8.2mm) and waterproof Z2 with its 20.7-megapixel camera and 1/2.3-type Exmor RS for mobile CMOS image sensor, 4K video shooting, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage (with microSD support). 4G connectivity and a 3,200mAh battery, not to mention the a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) TRILUMINOS display.

We've done a quick compare and contrast with the previous Z1 and if you like what you see, Carphone Warehouse is taking orders now.
