Affordable Nokia Lumia 630 handset leaks

Not the most exciting potential launch we've seen in the last few weeks, but the Nokia Lumia 630 might still impress if the price is right.

It should be right too, as we would expect the Nokia Lumia 630 to replace the current Lumia 620, a phone that got a decent review off us and one that certainly didn't break the bank.

That phone had 512MB RAM and a 3.8-inch 480 x 800px display, compared to the 630, which is said to have 1GB RAM, a 4.5-inch 854 x 480px screen and a Snapdragon 400 processor. But there's something else significant here. The Lumia 630 will be one of the first devices to run the new Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, with new features including an updated browser, the option to use different messaging apps, battery life monitoring, the ability to install apps on SD cards, changes to music and video apps, better multitasking and, possibly, Microsoft's Cortana personal assistant, the company's take on a Siri-like product.

With that in mind, the launch of the Lumia 630 could be a bigger deal than you might think. That launch is said to be in China in mid-April and, presumably, the rest of the world too.
