Video hints at imminent Sony Xperia Z2 launch

Sony will have new hardware on show at the MWC trade event and it's now looking more likely that its key launch will be the Sony Xperia Z2.

If that was in doubt, it probably isn't now, after a video was uploaded showing someone playing with a handset codenamed the Sony Xperia Sirius D6503. That codename has been linked to the Xperia Z2. Indeed, it has by us in a previous report. Want more? Well, how about that video being made in the UK using an EE SIM card? If it's in the UK being tested, it's fair to say that the phone is in the advanced stages of development.

The video doesn't tell us a great deal, outside of the phone existing and being in this country right now. However, the video does seem to show it running Android KitKat and if you look closely at the video, you might see an icon on the screen saying '4K', which could mean a 4K recording option on the phone.

Outside of that, we are just left with the information we had previously. That pointed to a thinner phone than the current Z1, featuring a 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440 pixel display, a 20.7-megapixel camera and a 3700mAH battery, with the Mobile Bravia Engine 3 also mentioned.

10 days or so to go, all should be revealed in full.
