HTC Desire 8 smartphone leaks

Well, we did hear that HTC was planning cheaper phones to fix its financial problems, but we didn't think some had already been built. Looking at the image of the HTC Desire 8 here, that seems to be the case.

This rather sleek and stylish phone has appeared on the Chinese MyDrivers site and looks a pretty stylish number. If it's pretty cheap, it will float our boat even more. It should be affordable too, judging by the specification.

Well, not so much a spec, more like a couple of headline details that arrived with the images. Those point to a 5.5-inch display, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which should be selfie heaven. Stereo front-facing speakers too, judging by the image.

What we don't know is the resolution of that screen, the processor inside the phone or the version of Android within. We'll have to wait for the official launch for all of that, which seems to be down for 18 March, although it might sneak out earlier at MWC. When it does, it will be offered in a choice of white, red, yellow, orange and cyan.
