Three new Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets to launch this month

We are already undertaking extensive finger exercises in light of the amount of typing needed around the MWC event. Judging by the amount of kit expected, we might have to order the strong coffee too.

Samsung is certainly leading the charge, with a new flagship and a demonstration of its Tizen platform pretty much guaranteed, while a pile of other kit is also expected to make an appearance. Latest on the grapevine are multiple models of the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets.

That's according to Phone Arena, which claims to have the inside track on the company's plans. If correct, we will see three new Tab models in Barcelona, presumably on the shelves just as spring is sprung.

Kicking things odd is the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, complete with 8-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage (plus microSD slot), a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and Android 4.4 running the show.

Alongside that is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, offered in Wi-Fi and 3G version, each with a 7-inch 1280 x 800 resolution LCD screen, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage (plus card slot) and like it'd slightly bigger brother, 3-megapixel and 1.3-megapixel cameras front bad back. Android 4.4 once more.

Finally, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 will come in Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G flavours, each with a 1280 x 800 resolution 10.1 inch LCD screen, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB (plus card slot) and improved cameras, those being 8-megapixel and 3-megapixel for the rear and front respectively. There's also 6800mAh battery and you guessed it, Android 4.4.

Not the biggest launches at MWC, but all significant in their own rights. It certainly shows Samsung is serious about bringing new kit to the market in 2014. Rather like 2013, in fact.
