Specification for mini version of HTC M8 leaks

Speculation regarding the upcoming HTC M8 (or One Two) is pretty much continual, but until now, we hadn't heard of a smaller M8 being in the pipeline.

But that seems to be the case in light of a leak via Twitter speculation merchants @evleaks. In fact, they haven't just confirmed it, they have listed a complete specification for it. Sadly no image (that's the HTC One Mini above), but we wouldn't be surprised to see one before the week is out. It's likely to look very similar to the M8 though. Only smaller.

Anyway, let's go with what we do have, which points to a 4.5-inch version of the M8 with on-screen buttons, along with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage (which you can expand via microSD card), Bluetooth 4.0, KitKat Android 4.4.2 for the operating system and Sense 6.0 for the interface. There's also said to be a 13-megapixel rear camera and an impressive (at least on paper) 5-megapixel front camera.

No news on just when it will be appearing, but with the upcoming flagship M8 now expected in late March, HTC could make it a double whammy and drop this smaller version at the same time. Saying that, it might also want to maximise the publicity and release it separately, perhaps over summer, which sounds like a more logical approach.
