You would think that Samsung would be focusing on the upcoming S5 launch right now. But no, it still sees a little more mileage in the S4 and S4 Mini. That's in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 Mini Black Editions, which were first flagged up a few days ago, but have just been announced for the UK. Why would you want one? Well, if the colour black is your 'thing', it might be the perfect accessory. That's essentially the selling point here, along with a slightly tweaked design, that being a faux leather back and a black bezel. There are also eight new wallpapers included plus a set of exclusive ringtones and matching black cables and earphones. But nothing new with the phone's inner workings. So you are looking at an S4 with a a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The S4 Mini offers a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, a 4.3-inch screen, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage and 8-megapixel camera. Oh yes, both with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rather than KitKat too, which is a disappointment. No pricing yet for the UK, but it's likely to be on a par with pricing for current models. That's a big ask for a two-year deal with the S5 around the corner. Talking of the S5, we wouldn't be surprised to see the faux leather cladding being part of that model's design too. That should be revealed in just a few weeks.
