We have been talking about it for a while now and to be honest, with all the leaks, part of our brains thought it was already out. But no, the red version of the Google Nexus 5 has just gone up for sale. The 'Bright Red' colour option is available now on the Google Play Store, perfect for anyone with a love of the colour red and possibly a potential Valentine's Day gift. It's got to beat a bunch of red roses this year.It seems to be in stock too, with Google Play showing shipping in one or two business days for both the 16GB and 32GB model. As you might expect, the red colour change is the only difference here to the standard black or white finishes (which are still available), but it certainly jumps out at you a lot more than those previous shades. With no difference to the inner workings, the price is the same. That's currently £299 for the 16GB version of the phone or £339 if you want the larger 32GB version. That is of course SIM-free. If you want a contract, go to Carphone Warehouse, which has it from £21 per month. As we said, nothing else has changed, so expect Android 4.4 KitKat for the operating system, along with a 4.95-inch 1920x1080 display, 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2300mAh battery and wireless charging. Is that the end of the colours for Google? Well, we did hear that a range of colours would launch, but that leak didn't include this shade of red. With that in mind, we're probably discounting it.But another leak, which correctly flagged up the red shade, also mentioned an incoming yellow Nexus 5 too. So logic dictates that the yellow phone is probably more fact than fiction and likely to be on the shelves soon. Once the excitement for 'Bright Red' has died down, we woud guess. As soon as we hear, you'll hear too.
