It launched the original G Pro at the MWC in 2013, so it's perhaps no surprise to hear about the launch of the LG G Pro 2 at the same event this year.LG made the announcement as part of its latest financial figures, which by the way were quite impressive. Doubling your profits in the last year is certainly something to shout about. In fact, talking of doubling, it sold 50 per cent more smartphones in this period that it did at the same time in 2013, so things are on the up for the Korean giant.Anyway, as a footnote to all the financial crowing, it confirmed that there would be a new G Pro phone (LG G Pro 2) unveiled next month. Now there's really only one place to show off a phone in February, so expect LG to make the headlines in Barcelona in around four weeks time.As for the phone itself, details have been pretty scarce so far. We know it will be a phablet, with rumours of that 2014 essential, a fingerprint scanner, alone with a 6-inch Full HD display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, 4G connectivity and Android 4.4 KitKat for the operating system. But LG does love a gimmick and as such, we would expect something else to grab the headlines when this handset gets its official unveil. As soon as it does launch, we will of course get you all the details.
