Full details of Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo leak

CES is pretty much done and dusted, with big mobile launches pretty few and far between. That will not be the case next month at MWC in Barcelona. Expect a glut of new mobile hardware there, including the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo.

Unfortunately, someone has spilled the beans a little early on this one, with a leaked internal document being passed to the GSM Arena showing pretty much everything you need to know about the phone. Someone is going to be in trouble this morning.

Anyway, that's not your concern. You want to know about yet another Samsung Galaxy phone. This one apparently has a 5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Beyond the screen, it has a 1.2 GHz quad-core A7 chipset, 1GB RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a front-facing VGA camera, 8GB of internal memory and a microSD slot. Most of the expected connectivity, but no 4G sadly.

It sounds like an affordable mid-range phone, one that will come with a rather dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, alongside the usual TouchWiz customisations. In fact, the price details (those are listed too) bear that out.

The smartphone will retail for €299 after tax in Europe in various colour options, which is around £250 SIM-free. Not bad for a big screen handset. To be honest, the leak might not be a bad thing for Samsung, If this launched at the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S5 at MWC, no one would be talking about it. At least we are now.
