The phone was confirmed for international rollout, but we didn't expect to see the LG G Flex in this country as soon as this week.Yes, you will find LG's curvy smartphone in some stores from this Friday. But there's a catch. A very big catch. EE has snagged a deal to get its hands on the LG G Flex first and is allowing you to do the same. But that's it. You can look, you can touch, but you can't take it away. The deal is to showcase the phone in selected EE stores. Those stores being the Westfield Shopping Centres in London's Stratford and White City, along withOxford Street in London, Kent's Bluewater Shopping Centre and EE outlets in Nottingham, Manchester, Brighton, Cambridge, Sheffield and Merry Hill in the West Midlands.'LG is renowned for its technical innovation so we’re pleased to be working with them to bring the G Flex to UK consumers,' said Sharon Meadows, director of devices at EE.'The G Flex is perfectly optimised to take advantage of our unique double-speed 4G network and will provide users with an immersive viewing experience so they can make the most out of watching video on the go.'Fait play to EE, it does make sense to showcase something a little different in the smartphone market and perhaps, something than can only really be appreciated by getting hands-on.As for phone sales, those are likely to be from February next year. When it lands, you'll find a handset with a horizontally curved screen (a 6-inch, 720p curved OLED display), along with a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, high-fidelity audio recording and playback, dual-window app functionality and tap-to-wake control. If that appeals, go have a play with one this weekend, if you can be bothered fighting through the Christmas crowds.
