BBC Sport app now optimised for tablets

The BBC has confirmed that the BBC Sport app has made the leap from small screen to big screen.

The app has been updated to work with pretty much app tablets 7-inch and above, including the iPad, Android tablets and the Kindle Fire 8.9-inch devices in the UK. It's available to download now.

Previously, the app had been optimised for devices up to seven inches but based on user feedback, a decision was made to scale up the app to make the most of larger screen sizes.

The latest version of the app includes live streaming of BBC Radio 5 live and sports extra, allowing you to listen to live sport while reading the latest match reports, news and analysis. The app also offers streaming of live video and on-demand highlights.

On top of that, you can customise the app to favour your own preferred sport or team and access a home screen displaying the top stories across the world of sport. You'll also find all the football live scores, results and news, sections for Football, Formula 1, Cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Tennis, Golf, daily live text commentaries dedicated pages for every English and Scottish football league club, plus pages for cricket counties, rugby teams and more and the option to share stories and results by email and on social networks.

If you want it, head to your respective app store.
