We heard a rumour it was launching and sure enough, almost a week on, the Asus PadFone Mini is officially here. It's also pretty much what we expected too, a smaller version of the Asus Padfone. In this case, a 7-inch tablet 'dock' with a 4.3-inch smartphone housed within. The concept is the same too, with the phone being removable and able to be used separately from the tablet when necessary. As for the specification, you are looking at a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM and a 4.3-inch screen with 960 x 540 resolution. The tablet offers a 1280 x 800 resolution. You'll find 16GB storage, along with a microSD slot to boost further, plus Android 4.3 for the operating system. It's a step down in both size and specification, so the price should be a step down too. We don't know that for the UK as it has yet to be confirmed for this country. But the price elsewhere is the equivalent of $246 (around £150). Be nice to see it come here at that price - but we're ot holding our breath.
