HTC One Two launch date outed by judge

The court case might not be good news so far for HTC, but its ongoing spat with Nokia is proving rich picking for us tech journalists.

The latest nugget comes from the judge himself, mentioning in passing that the next flagship phone from HTC would be launching in February or March 2014. So we can presume that's the HTC One Two nailed down then, presumably showcased at the MWC event in February. The date was produced by Nokia as evidence in the case, with HTC not willing to deny it.

You would imagine that the launch could be in jeopardy based on this legal dispute, although that no doubt hangs on whether the new model has the same patent issues and of course, how HTC is able to respond to Nokia's claims.

We don't know sufficient detail about the phone to know if it (allegedly) breaches patents. What we have heard is that the upgraded phone will pack a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display and the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Time will tell - possibly more time if this court case and its implications drag on.
