The first generation of the handset launched back in December 2012 an an affordable big screen device. Fast forward (almost) a year and we have the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2.Generally, we're looking at a boost on specification across the board. So the 5.25-inch screen on the original goes from 800 x 480 resolution to 1280 x 720, while the dual-core chip becomes a quad-core 1.2GHz processor. There's also 1.5GB RAM, 8GB on-board storage, a microSD slot, an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash plus a front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera. The operating system takes a step up to Android Jelly Bean, but no 4G connectivity on offer sadly. All of that is packed into a slimmer shell (9.6mm becomes 8.6mm), with the phone offered in a choice of white, black or pink and with a dual-SIM option in some territories. No news on a UK price or a shelf date, although it is definitely coming here. When we hear anything concrete, we will let you now.
