Nokia Music app rebranded as Nokia MixRadio

Things are definitely happening with Nokia Music right now, but the most obvious thing is some rebranding to Nokia MixRadio.

Thee app has just been renamed and relaunched, with the service now focusing more on mixes. Or if you prefer, a 'personalised mix' based on your 'unique music profile'. That mix is based on past likes and dislikes (which sounds like the kind of thing Pandora has been doing for years), refining your mix as you vote. When you are happy with it, you can share mixes on Facebook and Twitter, as well as via email and SMS.

Really, it's a refining of existing functionality - you could do something like this in the original app. But now Nokia is focusing solely on it when it comes to music on Windows Phones.

It might be travelling further too. As we heard earlier in the week, Nokia might well be pushing its music service to iOS and Android too. At least, that was according to leaked material out of China. The one thing that casts doubt on that is the change of name. The report talked about 'Nokia Music'. Old report or recent decision to rebrand? We don't know. We'll find out for sure when those apps launch - or don't launch.
