HTC One Max now available SIM-free

We reviewed it just a short while back, generally being happy with the HTC One Max, except for some reservation about the fingerprint scanner and the 'chunky and heavy' nature of the phablet. If that didn't put you off, you can get one on contract via Vodafone or pick one up SIM-free.

As you probably know, the One Max offers a 5.9-inch full HD screen, along with the same quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor as the original One, plus 2GB RAM, the Ultrapixel camera, a long lasting 3300mAh battery, 16GB or 32GB of storage and 50GB of Google Drive cloud space.

If that will fit into your bag or pocket, Unlocked Mobiles has the One Max for £585 plus delivery, while Clove is selling it for £590, again with delivery extra. Alternatively, Handtec has it for £588 (but is yet to take delivery of it) and MobileFun has the phablet retailing for £600.

Of course, you can get it on that contract deal, but you'll be paying big on a Big Red deal over 24-months with Vodafone. The 4G-ready deal will cost you £49 upfront and a further £47 each month. You pay more over the life of your phone, but you don't have to pay the price upfront. That's the choice.
