Samsung rolls out wider Galaxy Gear support

If you have been itching to get your hands on a Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, but don't have the phone to take full advantage, you will be pleased to hear of increased mobile phone support from Samsung.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Note 2 will soon work with the its wrist-based tech after the Android 4.3 update lands, which, as we mentioned previously, is currently rolling out across Europe, heading to the UK very soon. That should bring easier text input, and updated graphics and multimedia, along with Samsung's Knox security app, Smart Switch to quickly swap media from other phones to Samsung gadgets, Samsung HomeSync and Group Play 2.5.

Other phones will also feel the benefit via a separate software update. Those are the Galaxy S4 Mini, S4 Active, S4 Zoom, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3, with Samsung confirming that this update will be begin to roll out at the end of October.

Will it be enough to make the Galaxy Gear a must-have this Christmas? Time will tell.
