Nokia Lumia 1520 unveiled

After all the speculation, the Nokia Lumia 1520 has been unveiled, looking pretty much as we expected.

Yes, this is Nokia's phablet, available in a colour choice of red, white, black or yellow and packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM and the long-expected 20-megapixel PureView camera with optical image stabilisation. There is also a 6-inch full HD screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution, able to fit in more tiles and run the latest GDR3 version of Windows Phone 8.

Other features include four microphones, with the 1520 now supporting stereo audio capture, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot to boost that storage space even more, along with new Nokia software, including Storyteller, which can location tag your media (photos and video), working alongside Here Maps to show where that fun was had.

Nokia also confirmed that bit Vine and Instagram were coming to this phone and the Windows platform too, while the Nokia Beamer app will allow you to share content, like pictures, location on a map or even your camera viewfinder from your Lumia to any compatible screen.

The Lumia 1520 is US-bound first, retailing for $750 there sometime this quarter. Europe (including the UK) will have to wait for some later unspecified date.
