Google Watch could launch soon

It seems like wrist-based technology is the buzz right now in the mobile industry, with Google said to be readying its own offering - ad one that could be here in the very near future.

According to 9 to 5 Google, Google is 'putting the finishing touches' to its watch offering, said to have Google Now functionality at its heart.

It perhaps makes sense. Google has a lot of products, all of which could be harnessed in a wrist-based device. It also has Google Glass, so porting that functionality from eyes to wrist shouldn't be a huge job. Google is also said to be focusing on longer battery life and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity on the watch, but beyond that, details are pretty scarce.

A previous report has pointed to a launch at the end of October, but that seems a little soon to us. If that was the case, we would have expected more leaks and details at this stage. Unless Google has suddenly got good at keeping its new launches low key.

But the report here does say 'sooner rather than later', so who knows? It might be here before Christmas.
