Press shot of Nokia tablet leaks

It has been very quiet on the Nokia tablet front recently, especially with Nokia hosting a press event in Abu Dhabi on 22 October. With that in mind, you would have expected a tidal wave of new product leaks. Maybe we're just starting to get the first few drips.

First up via serial rumour merchants @evleaks is the image you see above. It is said to be a press shot of the new Nokia tablet in cyan, which hints that the new tablet will be offered in a range of colours. You might recall the prototype in pink that leaked some time back.

It also has a new name. Gone is the Nokia Sirius (which we quite liked) and in its place comes the far more likely Nokia Lumia 2520. That's pretty much all we have for now, although we suspect @evleaks has a lot more. They'll probably feed us snippets of information for the next week or so.

Previous leaks have pointed to a device likely to compete with the full-size iPad, although this is said to be thinner and lighter than Apple's current model. However, as Apple is rumoured to be refreshing its iPad line just hours after the Nokia launch, that could be pretty meaningless.

The Windows RT tablet is also said to feature a 6-megapixel camera at the rear with a 2-megapixel camera on the front, a 10.1-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and enhanced outdoor readability, Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, a battery life of 10 hours, 4G connectivity, a microSD port, a Micro HDMI connector, and a Micro USB port.

All of that for a price said to be comparable to Apple's tablet. In just a week's time, we'll find out exactly how much.
