Sony Xperia Z1 Mini said to land on 10 October

Last week we featured the first details of the Sony Xperia Z1 f or Xperia Z1 Mini (take your pick). Now more details have come to light, along with what's said to be the official release date.

That date, at least in Japan, is 10 October. That's when we will get the first official look at the miniature version of Sony's Xperia Z1 and when it will go on sale in its native territory. According to a brochure that has come to light, it will be offered in black, white, pink and lime colour options, each with a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 HD display, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 2300mAh battery, and dust and water resistance.

No news on the camera, but a previous leak has pointed to a 20.7-megapixel rear camera sensor and a 2.2-megapixel front camera. The operating system is expected to be Google Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, although there's a chance of an upgrade to Android KitKat depending on the launch of that particular platform.

So we're talking a lot of power in a small package, rather than a general scaling down of things. The brochure is for the Japanese market, so there isn't any clear indication of this coming to the UK, although we're pretty sure it will. Just a little later than the Japanese sales date.
