LG Nexus 5 service manual leaks

We've been speculating on the next Google phone for weeks, if not months. But with a launch fairly imminent, the picture is still a little hazy. However, a document leaked this weekend could have changed all of that.

That document is actually a 281-page internal service manual, which has a full spec sheet, not to mention a series of illustrations. Of course, it could be fake, but if it is, someone has gone to a serious amount of trouble just to have a bit of fun.

If the document turns out to be the real deal, the Nexus 5 will come with a 4.95-inch Full HD 1080p display, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. There will also be 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 2300mAh battery, wireless charging capabilities and NFC connectivity. Of course, the latest version of Android will be present too, that being Android KitKat 4.4.

It's not a million miles away from the LG G2, which got a strong review off us recently, but without the unusual button placement and with some Nexus detailing on the rear plate.

As we said, it could be an elaborate hoax from someone with far too much time on their hands - a couple of conflicting details do hint at that. But that could simply be down to poor proofing. It sounds right, but we'll have to wait until at least the end of October for actual confirmation.
