Google Nexus 5 arriving at the end of October

We heard it was coming in October, but if an inside source is correct, the LG-made Google Nexus 5 will appear just a little later in the month than we expected.

According to TechRadar and 'a source familiar with Google', the Nexus 5 will be announced and shipped in the last week of October. So not long to wait for Google's next flagship phone.

It's also said to be 'half the price' of the iPhone 5s, which should make the Nexus 5 price around £275, which points to another bona fide bargain from Google on the hardware front.

Interestingly, the same source claims that the Nexus 5 will 'match the iPhone 5s'. That's a little vague, to say the least. Will Google bring in some features like the fingerprint sensor with the Nexus 5? Will the storage take a step up to 64GB? Or will Google throw in a 64-bit processor? The last of those things is most likely, possibly with increased RAM.

Saying that, previous leaks haven't pointed to anything out of the ordinary. The most recent leaks have indicated a 5-inch Full HD display (442 ppi), a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snadragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, LTE and NFC connectivity plus wireless charging.

Time will tell, but we would expect Google to have at least one surprise up its sleeve when the Nexus 5 lands.
