Asus Padfone Infinity updated and relaunched

Not so much a new device as a refresh of the existing Asus Padfone Infinity.

Yes, the same Asus Padfone Infinity that was launched earlier this year. Indeed, we had a hands-on with it at the MWC event. You might recall it being the phone that turned into a tablet, which is what it still is, albeit with a little more power.

Asus has relaunched the device (or devices) with a more powerful 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC processor, along with a microSD slot and a secondary microphone for noise cancellation. Storage options have changed too, lowered to 16GB and 32GB, presumably because of the addition of that card slot.

The only other changes are a 'diamond cut' designed on the metallic rear for a more premium look, a choice of Titanium Black and Platinum White for the colours and a bump in Android from 4.1 to 4.2. The camera stays the same, but an enhanced camera app should boost image quality.

Everything else is much the same. As for the price, nothing for the UK as yet, but in the US, you are looking at something around $640 for the phone, with another $240 for the tablet dock.
